The personal representatives have a duty to pay the deceased’s debts,2 including tax due from the deceased.3 As a preliminary step, the personal representatives should ascertain as far as practicable what the debts are and should advertise for creditors under TA 1925, s. 27.4 Debts which are due immediately should be paid with due diligence.
