Once made, a military will continues in force like any other will, unless revoked.70 During military service, a will whether formal or informal, may be revoked by letter or an informal act expressing that intention. There does not have to be a new will. After the end of military service, such a will may not be revoked informally and it must be revoked in the same way as any other will.71 Long-forgotten military wills may therefore be admitted to probate, and this is a matter which must be checked when dealing with the estate of a retired serviceman.
