4.5.1 Relief for a UK property loss

A loss on a company’s UK property business can be set against the company’s total profits (including capital gains) of the accounting period of the loss. Any surplus loss can be carried forward and is treated as a UK property business loss of the next (and subsequent) accounting period (which can then be set against total income of that period), provided the company still carries on the same rental business.
