The second leg of TCGA 1992, s. 224(3) attacks expenditure on a property incurred after the beginning of the period of ownership and wholly or partly for the purpose of realising a gain on disposal. Whereas the first leg denies any PRR at all, the second leg restricts PRR in so far as the eventual gain is attributable to such ‘tainted’ expenditure.
