Services for common parts

Where a service-inclusive rental is charged, HMRC advised that the general maintenance and upkeep of the building and grounds and the payment of wages of caretakers and porters by the landlord are not regarded as constituting supplies of services by that landlord to his or her tenant(s). Any rental is therefore regarded as wholly in consideration for a right to occupy the premises.
