An offshore fund investing in commodities is given a measure of privileged treatment in that 50 per cent of its profits from commodity dealing may be left out of account in calculating its income and its UK equivalent profits. Thus, a fund dealing exclusively in commodities is only required to distribute 42 per cent of its income, instead of 85 per cent.
