The charge to corporation tax on income from the holding of an office is applied under CTA 2009, Pt. 10, Ch. 4 by CTA 2009, s. 969. For these purposes, ‘an office’ includes ‘any position which has an existence independent of the person who holds it and may be filled by successive holders’. A common example of an office held by a company is company secretary.
