Disposals after 5 April 1988 of assets owned at 31 March 1982 are subject to possible re-basing to the value at 31 March 1982; where rebasing applies, assets are deemed for all chargeable gains purposes to have been disposed of and reacquired at that date for their market value (see ¶520-350).
