As in the case of Enterprise Management Incentives, it is often assumed that CSOP options must be granted by the company that employs an individual (in the case of a single company) or by the parent company of the relevant group in which the individual is employed. Whilst it is far more common to see options (to subscribe for new shares) granted by such employing company or parent company to facilitate these arrangements, this is not compulsory.
