A person will an ‘eligible person’ if they (Childcare Payments Act 2014, s. 3):

are 16 or over;

are responsible for the child;

are in the UK;

are in qualifying paid work;

do not expect to receive income above a certain level;

are not claiming universal credit;

are not in a relevant childcare scheme and are not receiving certain other types of childcare support.
