Entitlement to annuity on or after 6 April 2015

This is an annuity payable by an insurance company;

which is purchased out of sums and assets representing a drawdown pension fund (see ¶392-500) or a flexi-access drawdown fund (see ¶392-520);

to which the member becomes entitled to it on or after 6 April 2015, and;

which is payable for a period not exceeding five years.

(FA 2004, Sch. 28, para. 6(1ZA))

However an annuity which would otherwise be a short-term annuity, will not be so regarded if;

the member was entitled to a short-term annuity (the ‘original short-term annuity’) from an insurance company which ceases to be payable;
