Where a person owns an asset which has become of negligible value, they may claim to be treated as though they had disposed of, and reacquired, the asset at the value stated in the claim (TCGA 1992, s. 24(2)); see ¶515-150 for detailed guidance on negligible value claims). Clearly this claim may also be made in respect of partnership assets which have become of negligible value.
