The following definitions apply for the purposes of these loss restriction provisions.

Sideways relief

The term ‘sideways relief’ is defined (ITA 2007, s. 103(1)) to refer to:

relief for trade losses against general income; and

early trade losses relief.

(The definition is thus identical to that used for the purposes of giving loss relief generally: see ¶261-000).
