Co-ownership authorised contractual schemes (CoACS) were introduced in 2013 and are onshore collective investment schemes which are authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority. CoACS are essentially a pool of assets held and managed on behalf of a number of investors using a contractual co-ownership arrangement. CoACS are transparent for tax purposes and therefore the income arising from investments in the CoACS is the income of its investors and it is the investors who are entitled to claim any available capital allowances.
