Interest is charged on corporation tax not paid by the normal due date (see ¶183-410) (TMA 1970, s. 87A). For rates of interest, see ¶2-230.

Relief for interest paid under TMA 1970, s. 87A is given under the loan relationships legislation. Prior to the enactment of CTA 2009, this treatment was provided for by TMA 1970, s. 90. Relief is now available by virtue of the fact that a deduction is not denied by CTA 2009, s. 1303 (see ¶703-400).
