The records that must be maintained and retained by a company in support of its corporation tax return are wide-ranging and extensive: records (or the information contained within them) of the amounts and nature of receipts and expenses, including all purchases and sales of stock, where relevant (FA 1998, Sch. 18, para. 21, 22).
