The provisions of CAA 2001, s. 67 can be used in cross-border transactions to enable a UK lessor to claim capital allowances in the UK whilst at the same time, and in respect of expenditure on the same equipment, a third party based in a foreign jurisdiction claims depreciation or similar tax allowances – the so-called ‘double dip’. Such arrangements are discussed in more detail in ¶1200-000.
