The provisions of CAA 2001, s. 67 may also be used in the case of hire purchase and similar agreements. In a hire purchase agreement, the option that the hire purchase lessee has to acquire the asset at the end of the lease period means that the contract is one which provides that ‘he shall or may become the owner of the plant or machinery on the performance of the contract’.
