West Somerset Railway Plc v Chivers (HMIT) (1995) Sp C 1
1. In 1862 the Bristol and Exeter Railway Company constructed a railway line from Norton Fitzwarren to Watchet, and, in 1874, extended it to Minehead. Subsequently that Company’s operations were taken over by the Great Western Railway Company who continued to operate the line until 1948 when, following nationalisation, the line became part of British Rail.
